The SkilSure solution:
SkilSure provided a customized Mandatory Professional Development solution for a professional institution with more than 50,000 members.
The PD program is mentored. Features of the solution include, functionality for mentors to interact with candidates during the candidates development planning and to assess whether recorded development activity and its supporting evidence meets criteria.
Member candidates both self assess and are assessed against professional standards. Member candidates submit evidence of accomplishment referenced against specific professional standards to a personal e-portfolio where it is accessed by the mentor and reviewed; feedback is provided to the candidate. External e-mails notify users of the need to log on to action items.
The Outcomes:
A review of user trends over a three year period showed the following: There was an increase in the number of professionals who registered with the Institution as follows, 20% in year one, and 10% year on year for the following two years
The Institution was more proactive in its contact/interactions with member professionals, and was perceived as providing more value to members
There was a higher retention rate (or lower drop out rate), the retention rate was improved by thirty three percent over the paper based system.
Over a four year period there was an increase of 29% in the number of employers accredited to offer the solution to their professionals.
The number of new professional registrants from non-accredited employers increased by 89%.
