College of Pharmacists contracts with Claymore to provide an online Structured Practical Training Solution for Pharmacy Technicians

Toronto, Canada: August 31, 2009. – The purpose of the solution is to automate the Structured Practical Training (SPT) assessment for both the pharmacy technician and their preceptor. The SPT solution will allow pharmacy technicians to plan and record their SPT activity on line. It will allow designated preceptors to monitor and make on line assessments of technician activity and to review and comment on their progress and the evidence uploaded to support it.

Pharmacy technicians will be able to complete on line self assessments against relevant competencies and performance criteria. They will also be able to record assessments of their preceptors and of their practice environment.

Preceptors will be able to complete on line assessments of technicians who are their responsibility and evaluate the SPT program.
