Skillsmart Retail™ Launches Sector Skills Map, Powered by SkilSure®
LONDON, England. June 1, 2005 – Skillsmart Retail™, a member of the Skills for Business Network, are proud to announce the launch of the sector Skills Map based on SkilSure® technology. The Skills Map shows people – both inside and outside the industry – what skills are needed to work in retail and in simple terms how to map their way through this complex concept. The initial Skills Map focuses on Store Operations, the largest retail sector, and represents the first tier in an ambitious multi-tiered retail Skills Map. In addition to the development of the Skills Map and accompanying user documentation, SkilSure Ltd. provides secure hosting services and a robust connection to the SkilSure® database.

Sector Skills Map
SkilSure Limited’s sector Skills Map simplifies skills management for members of the retail sector through a user-friendly, Web-based solution. Users log in to the Skills Map directly via the SkillSmart Retail™ Web site and access a colour-coded, graphical representation of the skills (Retail, Professional and Essential) and development required in their sector. Using the Skills Map, users are able to view job role descriptions and required competences with the applicable national standards and qualifications. The Skills Map also features an ‘owners manual’ which demonstrates to employers, colleagues and prospective employees how to use the nationally agreed competency matrix to map the skills they already have and to show how they can develop skills in line with career paths and aspirations.
