SkilSure Limited endorsed by City & Guilds
London, UK. February 27, 2007 – City & Guilds has endorsed the S/NVQ e-portfolio solution SkilSure®. This brings to four the number of e-portfolio products currently endorsed by the leading awarding body for work-related qualifications.
SkilSure®, like all the endorsed e-portfolios, has successfully undergone a rigorous process of quality assurance by a team including external verifiers in order to carry the City & Guilds badge of endorsement. This means that colleges and training providers can embrace innovation secure in the knowledge that the technology is compatible with City & Guilds' process and quality requirements.
Dispensing with time-consuming paper systems, e-portfolios are revolutionising the way colleges and training providers assess their students. These provide a password-controlled environment in which candidates store evidence that is thereafter accessible to tutors, assessors, employers and awarding bodies any time, anywhere. Learners can submit evidence by typing in text or uploading digital pictures, sound and video that the assessor and internal verifier can then view to make assessment decisions.
A City & Guilds survey of 95 colleges and training providers already using e-portfolios revealed that the reduction in time taken by candidates to complete their National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) was the number one plus point.
