SkilSure Ltd. and IMechE Go Live with e-MPDS, powered by SkilSure®
LOUGHBOROUGH, England. January 5, 2005 – SkilSure Limited (developers of the SkilSure® application) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the United Kingdom's qualifying body for Chartered and Incorporated mechanical engineers, are pleased to announce the launch of e-MPDS. In a multi-year agreement with SkilSure Limited, IMechE takes the Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) online as e-MPDS.
e-MPDS is a custom development of the SkilSure® Web-served application that provides a secure online method of record keeping for all registrants on MPDS. The system has been successfully trialed in a number of UK companies.
With e-MPDS, the IMechE and SkilSure Limited are providing the lead in managed online professional development for engineers in the UK and abroad.
The e-MPDS Solution
e-MPDS, “powered by SkilSure®”, centralises MPDS activities online. The application is designed to record plans and objectives for each young engineer registered on MPDS, along with the evidence they have that supports achieving the objectives.
Monitoring and reporting is accessible for all stakeholders, using a medium that modern graduate engineers are familiar with. An easy to access online system helps companies track progress or performance of each engineer registered on MPDS, adding value to employee reviews.
Quarterly reports and annual assessments, including mentor comments, are all recorded online. These are then printed out for use at a peer interview for progression to MIMechE and registration as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
Additional e-MPDS benefits include supporting engineers in remote locations through online access 24 hours/7 days a week and reducing paperwork.
